Job Description

• Lead the Jhpiego program team at the state level by overseeing program operations in the assigned districts of Jharkhand. • Ensure that the program activities are completed with desired outcomes as per the respective program work plans. • Track program performance as per the indicators in the project monitoring plans. Undertake mid-course corrective actions, wherever needed, under the guidance of India Country Office (ICO) program leads. • Under the guidance of the ICO program leads, provide technical support to the state governments and other stakeholders for successful implementation of the program. • Facilitate assessments of health facilities to develop a plan to strengthen/ enable the facilities to successfully implement the quality improvement program. • Advocate to leverage resources from state and districts for ensuring availability of all commodities required for implementation of the program wherever applicable. • Support the state in developing a micro plan of

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS degree with medical council (state/ India) registration is a must. Post-graduation in PSM/ Obstetrics & Gynecologist and/or Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree would be preferred. • 8–10 years of experience working with government, counterparts and systems on MNCH-FP/ RH programs, program counterparts and systems, and at least 3 years in managing and leading a program team at the state level. • Technical knowledge and field experience in public health programs, particularly family planning and reproductive health in India. • Knowledge of clinical training systems development including materials development and training site strengthening. • Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly National Health Mission. • Experience and demonstrated ability working on donor projects including experience in developing and managing programs and budgets.

• Ability to lead a diverse technical and program team. • Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations including government counterparts. • Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with various team members across multiple locations. • Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports. • Experience and demonstrated ability in working on donor supported projects. • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines. • Ability to multi task and work in a multi-cultural team. • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi and local language. • Proficiency in computers - Microsoft Office. • Ability to travel for up to 50-60% of her/his time.
