Notification for filling up the Vacancy in Bhumika Women’s Collective, Hyderabad

Bhumika Women´s Collective is a non-profit organization working on women issues since 1995. It was started for a cause to help the women in distress. Bhumika focuses on promoting the rights of the Women and Children by addressing gender based violence. Bhumika is working with adolescents’ and women through various interventions in both the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Name of the Post: Counselor

No. of posts - 5 (Woman) only

Location: Hyderabad

Education Qualification: Post Graduation in Social Work / Sociology

Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in any NGO working on Women, Children, Gender issues

Language: Proficiency in English and Telugu.

Age: Should not exceed 40 Years.

Knowledge on counseling skills, laws related to women, personal laws related to different religious communities

Should possess good competence in Telugu, English and Hindi languages - speaking and writing

'Ability to document the cases, intervention process, preparation of reports and case studies

Ability to use windows and Microsoft office

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and strengthen the psychological self of the violated women.

• Work towards building support systems for women

• Engaging Police help in the interest of the women

• Providing legal aid

• Arranging shelter for the women through referrals to short stay homes, institutions, hostels, etc.

• Engaging with the youth, educational institutions and communities to generate awareness about violence against women

• Engage in development counseling with the violated women especially post crisis period

• Direct Interventions depending on the need of the survivor

• Documentation - updating registers with relevant information of the Survivors, nature of cases, interventions by Helpline, further referrals, etc.

• Preparing reports and documenting Case Studies
