Job Vacancy: Finance Officer for NGO

About Us: Samvedna is a Bhopal-based organization that works to combat caste-based commercial sexual exploitation prevalent in the Bedia community. The organization has a two-pronged approach – prioritizing prevention for the vulnerable members of the community through advocacy and direct intervention, and working with the survivors for their rehabilitation and reintegration. Presently, Samvedna works in 60 villages across 6 districts – Bhopal, Rajgarh, Guna, Raisen, Vidisha, and Guna – in Madhya Pradesh with over 1425 Bedia families and 5000 Bedia children.

Position: Finance Officer

Location: Bhopal Madhya Pradesh

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software, with a focus on Tally Prime.

• Donor Agency Correspondence:

• Effectively communicate with donor agencies regarding financial reports, budget proposals, and funding requirements.

• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and reporting deadlines.

Accounting:

• Prepare and analyse financial reports, statements, and projections.

• Monitor and control expenses to align with budgetary guidelines.

• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

Administration and HR:

• Handle administrative tasks related to human resources, including payroll processing and employee benefits administration.

• Assist in the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the NGO sector.

• Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Tally Prime.

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills and Competencies:

• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
