Job Overview:

Role: Programme Coordinator (On site, Bengaluru)

Full-time role

9:30 AM- 5:30 PM, 8 hours per day; 5 days per week, Tuesday through Saturday.

Location: Bengaluru

At Durga, we believe that we must take responsibility, as an individual, community, bystander, ally and an organization, to create a safe workplace for women, across different areas of work, to participate, thrive and dream of a career, like it rightfully should be. Safety is not just a women’s issue, and it is unfair to put the burden of ensuring one’s safety only on women. Our programme Women at Work is built around Gender Justice in Public Spaces, essentially workspaces. Through our work, women and girls are able to understand patriarchy, separate their rights from responsibilities, understand human rights, address mental health issues, dissect power, and therefore know how to address sexual harassment and violence, and hold their ground.

Who are we looking for: An ideal candidate will:

Have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the development sector

Have a Master’s Degree in Social work, Development, Public Policy & Governance, Women’s Studies or a related field

Have a deep passion & commitment to the cause of gender justice

Have verbal & written fluency in Kannada and English. (Mandatory)



Programme Delivery:

Assist with planning and coordination of the Women at Work programme and its activities.

Ensure that programmes and interventions are designed and delivered well.

Work to keep programme on schedule and support programme growth and development

Manage staff work assignments, workloads and work schedules. The Programme Coordinator should coordinate daily schedules to make use of the team’s full capacity and plan sessions accordingly.

Coordinate interactions/relationships between stakeholders and teams.

Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events

Create and maintain program records, reports, presentations and proposals

Effectively monitor and implement the expected programme outcomes in the communities that we work with.

Be excellent at building and maintaining relationships: The candidate should build meaningful relationships with multiple government stakeholders and partners and network with relevant department officials, civil society organizations and institutions for collaborations and continuation of our work

Have strong communication skills: Ability to listen actively, and understand the needs of the team members and the communities that we work with.

Deliver work in a timely manner, effectively delegate tasks amongst the team to make optimal use of time and make use of the team’s strengths to be organized and efficient.

Be well-organized & detail-oriented.

The candidate should be able to manage uncertainty and adapt to changes while still performing at high levels of excellence.

The candidate should be able to work independently and hold themselves accountable for the work they have to deliver.

Impact Measurement: The candidate should be able to implement the programme, complete milestones, adhere to timelines that are set for the programme and evaluate the intervention, and identify scope for improvement.
