Position: Chapter Head (Hyderabad) – India Literacy project (Education Non-Profit)
Reports to: Country Manager
Role: The Chapter Head is responsible for leading and managing the Operations of the Hyderabad chapter of India Literacy Project (ILP), a non-profit on a mission to be the catalyst for 100% educated India. The Chapter Head will work closely with the Country Manager and the Board of Trustees to develop and implement strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing operations, finances, programs, staff and volunteers.
2. Drive strategic planning, fundraising and stakeholder relationships to achieve the Chapter’s mission and goals.
3. Excellent management skills, leadership, guidance and demonstrate ability to nurture staff and their professional development.
4. Manage resource planning, budget management and event management to ensure maximum value is delivered and contribute to resource planning at a broader organizational level.
5. Liaison with the government to ensure its full support to the programs/projects.
6. Monitor and evaluate program/project effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
7. Facilitate development of policies, procedures, reporting structures & KPIs.
8. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
9. Manage the chapter budget, ensuring funds are allocated effectively and expenses are within budgetary limits.
10. Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, develop strategic plans and represent the organization in public
11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports on program activities and outcomes.
12. Identify potential risks to the success of chapter activities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
13. Stay informed about developments in the field of education and promote best practices within the chapter to ensure programs are effective and impactful.
Requirements and Skills:
• Post Graduate in education, non-profit management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role in an education or non-profit organization.
• Strong knowledge of education policies and programs, specifically working with Government schools and systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills (Telugu and English).
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience in budgeting, fundraising, and event planning will be a huge plus
• Passion for education and a commitment to serving underprivileged communities.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel within the designated chapter (25 – 40 % travel)
