The Social Mobilizer will play a key role in engaging and mobilizing communities for active participation in various social and development initiatives. The role involves building strong relationships with community members, raising awareness about relevant issues, advocating for community needs, and facilitating capacity building activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of around 10 local advisors from the community and work closely with around 150 onion farmers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, leaders and stakeholders
- Conduct community level awareness meetings on gender, vision, social issues, and facilitate educational sessions for community members.
- Enhance the skills and capacities of community members through training sessions.
- Establish and maintain networks with community organizations, local government agencies and relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate participatory process for community members to be involved in decision making and planning.
- Monitor the development of the project within the community
- Collect data, prepare case studies, reports to assess the impact of the project interventions.
- Keep accurate records of community activities, meetings and project outcomes.
- Mobilize resources and support in times of crisis.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Community development, Rural development, Agriculture, or a related field
- Proven experience in community engagement and mobilization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of local cultures and dynamics
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Proficient in data collection and reporting.
- Proficient in English and Odia language
This position is for a period of 1 year and the renumeration for this position is 35000 INR per month. The extension of this position will depend on the availability of funds/project extension.
