Position – Inclusive Education Coordinator (Visual Impaired)

Location- Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh


General Position Summary


AARAMBH with the support of Sightsavers is implementing a flagship project in the District of Raisen, MP on Inclusive Education Programme. The main aim of this project is to provide all children with disabilities receive quality education in an inclusive environment across government schools in Seven Blocks of Raisen District, with CVIs receiving appropriate skillsets for education.”

The project is implementing since last one year in partnership with District Government, Private sector, key technical resource and training agencies, etc.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

S/he will engage with District RSK, planners and implementers at different levels to support implementing Inclusive Education initiatives for Visual Impaired and Low Vision Children as mentioned in National Education Policy 2020 and AARAMBH Strategy on Inclusive Education.

• Support in conducting benchmarks that will ensure relevant for Children with special needs (CWSN) inclusiveness and support RSK team including MRCs in Inclusive Education strategy.

• Establish networks with Government Departments, Civil societies, existing OPDs (Organization of Persons with Disability) and NGOs that impacts project strategy on Inclusive education.

• Ensure benefits to CWSN as per the social security and Inclusive education schemes.

• Sensitize the State and district teams and key stake holders on policy, IE programme provisions and importance and influencing by designing and organizing technical training sessions.

• Educate Govt functionaries and private sector for disabled friendly school environment, inclusive classroom practices and supportive community.

• Support in designing and developing programmes on education and ensuring its implementation

• Present district level data on VI, Low Vision Children and CWSN, information, and experience at state level for educating the policy makers and bureaucrats of Education Department at District and state level.

• Undertake field visits to all seven blocks of Raisen District to assess the quality of programme and support VI Children their parents and the district teams in effective implementation of the project

• Conduct Trainings of Masters Trainers (MTs) on Inclusive Pedagogy and ICT.


Accountability:

Reports Directly to: District Programme Coordinator

Works directly with: Chief Functionary of AARAMBH, Sightsavers Programme Monitoring team, local Government, private sector, corporates, local firms, OPDs, donors and other stakeholders.



Minimum desirable qualification & transferable skills:

• Inclusive Education Coordinator will have a minimum qualification of a university post graduate degree and preferably a professional course in Education or Inclusive Education with Specialization in Visual Impairment

• Understanding of education processes, especially of Children with Visual impairment.

• At least five years of relevant working experience of working in the field of inclusive education/education, including a minimum of three years of project management experience.

• Knowledge and skills in influencing techniques, and methodologies for designing training curriculum and facilitate workshop.

• Knowledge of operating various devices on Inclusive Pedagogy and ICT

• Must be willing to travel to project sites and as per organisation needs.

• Fluency in English and local language of the state posted, both written and oral essential


Salary: Rs. 45,000/- PM and Travel benefits as per the norms
