Position: Field Coordinator (Vikramshila Education Resource Society)

Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Project Officer, this position provides a comprehensive programme implementation and monitoring role for a highly acclaimed CSR initiative that ensures a professional, responsive, and effective experience of working closely with the elementary system of education.

Job Description:

• Establishing Liaison with Local Authorities: The Field Coordinator will actively engage with local authorities such as counsellors and the Chairperson of the borough to foster strong relationships and collaboration.

• Classroom Observation and Transaction: The Field Coordinator will visit schools and observe classroom transactions to gain insights into teaching methodologies, student engagement, and overall learning environments.

• Developing a Print-Rich Classroom: The Field Coordinator will work towards creating an environment conducive to reading and learning by developing a print-rich classroom.

• Organizing Reading Mela/Math Mela and Documentation: The Field Coordinator will coordinate and oversee Reading Mela, an event focused on promoting reading habits and literacy in the community. Additionally, they will document the entire process, capturing the impact and outcomes achieved.

• Facilitating Enrolment Drive: The Field Coordinator will actively support an enrolment drive initiative to ensure that children in the community have access to education. They will collaborate with relevant stakeholders and use various strategies to increase enrolment rates.

• Supporting Smart Moms in the Community: The Field Coordinator will provide assistance and support to Smart Moms, a community initiative focused on empowering mothers through skill development and education. They will help in organizing relevant activities and workshops.

• Organizing Community Events: The Field Coordinator will take the lead in organizing community events that promote education, literacy, and community engagement. These events will aim to create awareness, involve the community, and foster a sense of belonging.

• Submitting Periodic and Annual Reports with Empirical Data: The Field Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and submitting periodic and annual reports that document the progress made, activities conducted, and empirical data collected. These reports will provide valuable insights for future planning and decision-making.

The candidate must have:

• At least bachelor’s degree in social science or humanities subjects

• At least 2 years of prior experience in the development sector

• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

• With strong organizational skills

• Problem solver who can think on their feet

• Ability to assess priorities, initiate and follow-through on tasks

• Strong self-starter who will take charge and provide efficient support to the Project Officer

• Eagerness to work in field closely with community people

• Strong ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
