Job Description

Position Overview:

The Project Manager (P.M.) will be responsible for all aspects of running the Rajasthan office & programs. These include (but are not limited to) managing the scholarship and intern programs, conducting research to be used in developing future programs, managing the operating budget, community relations and local fundraising. This is a unique opportunity to work with an international team and gain exposure to all the functions of NGO work.

The P.M. will report directly to the Project Manager (Gujarat based) Executive Director and occasionally to the Board of Directors (US based)

Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

Program Management

 The P.M.'s primary responsibility is to execute the scholarship program. This includes traveling to local schools to educate students about the program, distributing, collecting and scrutinizing

Eligibility Criteria

. 2-3 years previous experience in education, NGO sector or related field • Masters Degree in: social science, rural development, social work, education, nonprofit management, or related field required from a reputed institute • Languages: English required. Hindi and tribal languages a plus • Ability to periodically travel in rural areas • Basic understanding of education system, especially higher education • Must have own laptop

• Project & people management skills

• Ability to manage a diverse team (multinational & members from other parts of India)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to identify problems, find and implement solutions

• Ability to work independently and without daily oversight on projects both large and small

• Comfort with research, fieldwork and analysis

• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekday evenings and some weekends when required to meet deadlines or participate in field work

• Computer skills including Microsoft Suite, GoogleDocs, GoogleCalendar, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
