Kaya Guides is looking for freshers to join their mental health program.

Kaya Guides is a non-profit organization that uses WhatsApp to deliver a free guided self-help program in Hindi aimed at reducing depression. The heart of our program lies in our guides, who provide psychosocial support and help the participants in applying the techniques in their daily life.

The guide position is an interesting, fast-paced, rewarding, and at times emotionally challenging job. You will learn/gain:

How to give basic psychosocial support and use active listening skills

Highly evidence-based techniques which are proven to be effective in reducing depression

How to monitor for and provide an initial response to signs of suicidality and other risks

How to be empathetic and compassionate in the face of a variety of challenges

How to remain calm in high-pressure situations

Become more efficient and organized through managing logistics through a high volume of calls and packed schedule

How a WhatsApp chatbot works and how various forms of tech can interact to form a comprehensive, digitally delivered program

You’ll have a fun time with a great team passionate about mental health and youth well-being

Required:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, health or public health

You can consider applying even if you do not come from these fields - a strong interest in mental health is required.

Commitment: Full-time

Contract Structure: Annual contract with a 3-month probation period

Location: Remote (Mumbai is preferred). Private workspace at home and internet connection required.

Start Date: 15th May (Tentative)

Work Days and Timing: Guides should have evening availability at least two days per week (6-9pm) and at least four hours of weekend availability (Saturday, Sunday or both). The rest of the days can be standard working hours.

Remuneration: 20K INR per month

Location: Mumbai/ Remote, Maharashtra
