Background
There are over 355 million menstruating women and girls in India. About 50 per cent of women aged 15-24 years do not have safe menstrual health practices. UNICEF says in addition to girls and women, transgender men and non-binary persons are also unable to manage their menstrual cycle in a dignified and healthy way. There are more than 49 lac adolescents' girls, women and people in Delhi who menstruates.
Menses Health Project
Through Menses Health Project, Matri Sudha is going to install sanitary pads vending machines in government schools and public places. The goal of the project is to break taboos around menstruation, increasing awareness, giving access to affordable menstrual products (herein sanitary pads at public places). The two positions of Project Coordinator- Menses Health Project are created for successful execution of the project in NCT of Delhi. One project coordinator will oversee the implementation of the project in government schools and other coordinator will be required to implement the project at public places.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate all field activities related to the implementation of the project.
2. Assist in designing of project specific monitoring tools.
3. Conduct frequent field-visits to all the locations wherever the vending machines are installed.
4. Conduct interviews with beneficiaries.
5. Giving constructive feedback on project operations and its progress.
6. Ensuring formal and informal project monitoring reports are submitted weekly, fortnightly and monthly.
7. Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
8. To assist in the identification and production of management information and statistics for management at all levels, including the appropriate analysis and compilation of reports as required.
9. Regularly creating content for social media.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Education
Minimum: Graduate
Desirable: Postgraduate
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience of working with adolescents, women and transgenders on menstrual health.
Skills & Competencies
1. Highly skilled in engaging people through one-to-one conversations or in group discussion.
2. Well-versed in creating content for social media posts.
3. Working in a small team
4. Resource mobilization
5. Creative and good communication skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly programmatic reports
2. Timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
3. Oversee the proper functioning of machines.
4. Development of IEC Material for communication.
5. Developing case stories on regular basis
6. Better coordination with different agencies.
Reporting Structure
The Project Coordinators will directly report to the Project Director.
Position Requirement
Initial for 1 year. Extension shall be possible only after successful renewal of the project.
