Job Description:
As the Finance Coordinator at AALI, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization. You will work closely with the finance team and other units to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
· Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for management and board review.
· Ensure preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audits and tax filings.
2. Budget Management:
· Collaborate with program officers to develop and monitor annual budgets.
· Track budget versus actual performance and provide analysis to identify variances and trends.
3. Accounts Payable:
· Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely manner.
4. Grant Management:
· Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budgets.
· Monitor grant expenditures and compliance with grant requirements.
5. Financial and statutory Compliances:
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements with Income Tax Act, 1961, Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, financial policies and other rules.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
6. Financial Systems Management:
· Maintain accounting software and other financial systems.
· Streamline processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
7. Financial Analysis:
· Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
· Identify opportunities for cost savings and fund enhancement.
8. Communication and Collaboration:
· Collaborate effectively with colleagues across units to support organizational goals.
· Communicate financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. CA, CS or relevant professional degrees preferred.
· 4+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a non-profit sector.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, word and accounting software (e.g., Tally, TDS software).
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
