Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. Record all financial transactions in the appropriate ledgers or accounting software. Ensure that all financial documents are properly filed and archived for auditing purposes. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Monitor budget implementation and provide regular updates to management. Present financial reports to management, board members, and donors as required. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements of donors and regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and provide necessary support and documentation. Implement recommendations from audit reports to strengthen financial controls and procedures. Assist in the financial management of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Work closely with program managers to track grant expenditures and ensure proper documentation. Prepare financial reports for donors and funding agencies in accordance with grant agreements. Oversee banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations. Ensure timely processing of payments to vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience working as an accountant, preferably in the nonprofit sector or with NGOs. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
