Job Description: Training Coordinator


SMRC is looking for a Training Coordinator who is passionate about the capacity building of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) represented by Scheduled Tribes, youth, women, and persons with disabilities. The Training Coordinator will manage and ensure effective implementation of the training component of the project in coordination with implementing partners spread across six districts of Odisha viz. Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Rayagada.

Key Responsibilities

Manage training budget

• Set out an annual training expenditure plan in line with the approved budget

• Ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of the training component

Identify training needs of Civil Society Organisations

• Referring to the baseline findings, identify/prioritize the training needs of CSOs in alignment with the project objectives.

• Collate and review existing training materials within and beyond the network, map relevant content and materials to adopt

• Desk and field analysis of eco-system to identify potential risks in conducting trainings and develop mitigation plan against the identified risk factors

• Map training venues, finalise trainer and participant ratio, language translation requirement, accessibility of persons with disabilities, and finalise outreach and participation plan in consultation with implementing partners.

Develop training program and materials

• Develop inclusive training content and modules, conduct field testing, incorporate feedback, and finalise training modules

• Produce relevant training tools that includes relevant audio-visual aid, animation, power points, posters and flipcharts, case studies and so on

• Coordinate with experts in translating training materials for the targeted CSOs

• Collect feedback at regular intervals, consult with sector specialists for necessary improvement

• Develop and launch online training modules and curriculum in consultation with technical experts and implementing partners.

• Initiate certification and recognition of training modules by concerned authorities

• Develop Training of Trainers manuals

• Develop attendance sheets and ensure digital attendance of participants

Deliver training

• Identify and finalise master trainers for the series of training

• Prepare training calendar for master trainers, community facilitators, and CSOs

• Develop criteria for identifying training participants in consultation with implementing partners

• Conduct Trainings of Trainers for master trainers, assess performance, create a pool of master trainers

• Coordinate with implementing partners and assign Master Trainers for capacity building of community facilitators and CSOs

• Develop checklist for quality check and assess training quality through field visits

• Track success and progress, prepare analytics and communicate with project team

• Assess attendance sheet and recommend inclusion in diversity and ensuring reasonable accommodation within the training

Requirements and qualifications

• Master in education or relevant field

• Minimum 10 years of experience in development sector with 5 years of experience as training coordinator or in similar role

• Experienced in designing inclusive training programs, inclusive training materials, and implementing with Civil Society Organisations

• Knowledge of various training methods and tools, training need analysis

• Proficiency in MS-Office, digital training modules and curriculum

• Excellent facilitation skills

• Excellent presentation skill in English, Odia

SMRC’s core area of intervention is to apply modern rehabilitation techniques creatively and comprehensively.
