Garden Reach Institute For The Rehabilitation And Research is a secular, voluntary, non-profit organization working to bring change in the life of the marginalized section of the society living in the slum of Garden Reach ,Metaburuz , Kolkata , of West Bengal, is an organization working for persons with disabilities. We carry out various activities such as Special education, physiotherapy, aids & Appliances production, advocacy and community-based rehabilitation Programme for persons with disabilities, their families and community members to support them build a good life.is looking for a Special Educator For Hearing Impairment .

Education & Qualification Special B.Ed in Hearing Impairment.

Job Description of Special Educator

• Follow and deliver high standard of professional special education service to the beneficiaries of the Inclusive Education & Rehabilitation project.

• Assessment for special education CWD’s / PWD’s.

• Individual Goals setting planning of CWD’s And PWD’s.

• Review the Goal setting every six months.

• Develop some TLM and teach some ADL exercise or train Inclusive Education & Rehabilitation Team about the Disability and type of disabilities ,Etc

• Awareness generation in the community about the disabilities and accessibility.

• Awareness generation in the community and Government office.

• Orientation of different Government school for the right of children with disabilities

• Enrolment in the school .

• Liasioning with SSM for scholarship & other benefits.

• Organise the camp for certification of disability, Railway concession certificate, Bus pass, Ration Card, Birth certification & others.

• Organise the sports & Inclusion of CWD’s sports.

• Referrals for the vocational training in different organization.

• Networking with other organization / NGOs

• Home visit follow up

• Documentation of all the individual cases.

• Maintain good relation with the community & family members.

• Good co-ordination between all Admin and Field staff

• Prepare progress report every 6 months.

Children Mobility and independency are very important , because Most of the children who are dependent on others won’t have opportunities to include in such of these social participation . During SMART Goal setting , we include Parents and caretakers to understand the goals as per the child’s abilities and then Discuss Rehab plan for center and teach them Home based plans . Rehabilitation Services which include : 1) Screening : To understand what kind of disability present . 2) Assessment : Include Physical and social problems . 3) Referral : If they need any specific test or treatments . 4) Rehab intervention plan: including therapy, ADL training , Appliances etc . 5) Goal setting : Which include Short & long term goals .
