Job Description

The Comprehensive Elderly Care Program (CECP) is aim to build a comprehensive model that addresses the health, social, psycho-social and economic needs of the elderly in the community. This program comprises of two major interventions viz, health and social. Health intervention supports better accessibility of health services for elderly while social intervention supports the constant engagement of elderly through activity centers at village level.

This position requires physiotherapy and public health background, strong coordination and capacity building skills. This position will report to the Program Manager of CECP.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Program Manager to support the implementation of Comprehensive Elderly Care Program.

2. Provide support for field level integration for CECP project activities.

3. Provide technical assistance to District Health Society for the operationalization of Geriatric Clinics at Primary Health Center level.

4. Planning and organizing physiotherapy sessions for the Elderly at PHC level.

5. Support in the development of strategic plans and research/grant proposals.

6. Support the documentation of project outcomes, success stories and challenges.

7. Travel within the District/blocks as per project and organization requirement.

8. Coordinate with the team for effective implementation of the project as well as liaise with other organization working in the domain of Elderly Care.

9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Skills

1. Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Master’s in Public Health/Health Administration

2. 0-2 years of work experience with Government and counterparts

3. Technical knowledge and field experience of Public Health programs

4. Strong written and communication skills in English, Hindi and regional language

5. Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as proposal, training reports

The Azim Premji Foundation and its partner organisation Janseva Gramin Vikas va Shikshan Pratishthan jointly implementing this program in five blocks of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra namely Ballarpur, Bhadravati, Chandrapur, Mul and Sawali.
