Job Title: Jackfruit Processing Trainer


Location: Rongara Block, South Garo Hills, Meghalaya


Job Description:


We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Jackfruit Processing Trainer to join our team at a fruits and vegetable processing unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in jackfruit processing and a passion for training and development. The Trainer will be responsible for imparting knowledge and skills to our workforce in various areas, including operations and maintenance of machines, new and innovative product development, quality assurance, packaging, safety protocols, health and hygiene, inventory management, post-harvest management, and procurement.


Responsibilities:


Conduct comprehensive training sessions on the operations and maintenance of machines used in jackfruit processing, ensuring that employees understand proper usage, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.

Collaborate with product development teams to identify market needs and trends, and develop new and innovative jackfruit and other value added products from locally available fruits and vegetables including beverages, that meet consumer demands.

Implement quality assurance processes and train employees on best practices to maintain consistency and excellence in product quality throughout the processing stages.

Provide training on packaging techniques, including selection of packaging materials, packaging design, and labeling requirements, to ensure product safety and attractiveness.

Educate employees on safety protocols and procedures to prevent workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.

Deliver training on health and hygiene practices to promote cleanliness and sanitation standards in the processing unit, reducing the risk of contamination.

Train employees on inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure timely replenishment of raw materials and finished products.

Provide guidance on post-harvest management techniques to maximize the shelf life and quality of jackfruit products from harvesting to processing and distribution.

Conduct training sessions on procurement processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and supplies.

Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Proven experience working in a fruits and vegetable processing unit, with a focus on jackfruit processing.

Strong knowledge and expertise in jackfruit processing techniques, including operations and maintenance of processing machinery, product development, quality assurance, packaging, safety protocols, health and hygiene standards, inventory management, post-harvest management, and procurement.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a proactive approach to training and development initiatives.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Willingness to travel to Rongara BLOCK, South Garo Hills, Meghalaya, for training sessions as required.
