Job Overview:
As the Permaculture Farm Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and
managing a 15-acre permaculture farm in Kathiwada, Madhya Pradesh, utilizing local
resources provided by our organization. This is a full-time, permanent position that
offers an incredible opportunity to create a permaculture oasis from scratch, promoting
sustainability, food security, and ecological harmony in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
? Resource Management: Oversee the efficient utilization of local resources,
including land, water, plants, and materials, to create a sustainable and
self-sufficient farm ecosystem.
? Crop Management: Implement permaculture techniques to grow a variety of
crops, including fruits, vegetables, herbs, and grains, while ensuring soil health
and biodiversity.
? Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities and involve them
in the project, providing training and opportunities for participation in
sustainable farming practices.
? Sustainable Practices: Ensure the farm operates in alignment with permaculture
principles, minimizing waste, conserving water, and promoting sustainable
agricultural techniques.
? Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of farm workers and volunteers,
fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
? Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the project, ensuring
financial sustainability.
? Daily Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to the organization's leadership
and stakeholders, documenting the project's successes, challenges, and lessons
learned on WhatsApp and Email.
? Project Expansion: Assess opportunities for project expansion and, if feasible,
lead efforts to extend the project beyond the initial 2-year duration.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field
? Proven experience in permaculture farming, including project management and
design.
? Strong leadership and team management skills.
? Excellent communication and community engagement abilities in Hindi.
? Budgeting and financial management experience.
