Job Description

Financial planning and management

? Work with staff and the Board, especially the managing trustee or the trustee

designated for the task to prepare a comprehensive budget.

? Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the Resource Centre.

? Explore funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization.

? Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed.

? Administer/supervise the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization.

? Ensure that the organization complies with all legislation including taxation policies as per statutory requirements.

? Commission research individually or with others on girl’s issues, especially based on Vacha’s programmes.


Community relations/advocacy

? Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization.

? Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.


Eligibility Criteria:

1. The position is open for women candidates only.

2. Master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Developmental field from reputed college/university.

Person with additional qualification relevant to social sector will be preferred.

3. Minimum ten years of experience in working at equivalent position in NGOs focusing on women/children/youth issues. Experiences of working on Gender domain is preferable.

4. Proficiency in spoken and written English language is must. Working knowledge of Hindi and Marathi is necessary.

5. Should be passionate about women’s rights and in aligns with feminist and gender ideology.

8. The preferred candidate will have prior experience working on gender justice issues, including the engagement of men and boys. They must be knowledgeable in participatory processes, organizational development, community-based methodology, and grassroots culture, strengthening minority voices.

9. Proficiency with computer and other digital devices is critical.

10. Willingness to travel in field and if required, outstation (residential/non-residential) for training, networking and project monitoring.
