Organization Details

  • Organization Name:Turning Pages Foundation
  • About Organization:We believe that a strong reading habit has a transformational impact on a child. Worldwide research demonstrates that children who read for pleasure are better able to make sense of the world around them. Their self confidence grows, critical thinking is sharpened and socio-emotional skills strengthened. Other benefits include the building of a stronger vocabulary and greater comprehension skills. ? To achieve this change, working only with the children is not sufficient. Schools have a vital role to play, and must be places where reading is valued and practised. Turning Pages works with schools to create systemic change. Our 5 pronged approach works with every aspect of a child's school life to bring about a "whole school reading culture".
