Job Title: Accounts Officer

Location: Kolkata

Job Type: Full-time

Reports To: Lead-Finance

Job Summary:

The Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing the financial records of the organization, ensuring compliance with GST regulations, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounts using Tally software. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Tally and GST filing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. GST Compliance:

o Prepare and file GST returns accurately and timely.

o Reconcile GST data with financial statements.

o Handle GST audits and assessments.

o Keep abreast of changes in GST laws and regulations and ensure compliance.

2. Tally Accounting:

o Maintain and update financial records in Tally.

o Perform day-to-day accounting tasks including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.

o Generate financial reports and statements from Tally.

3. Financial Management:

o Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

o Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports.

o Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.

4. General Accounting Duties:

o Manage accounts payable and receivable.

o Conduct bank reconciliations.

o Process payroll and manage employee reimbursements.

o Handle petty cash and expense claims.

5. Audit and Compliance:

o Assist in internal and external audits.

o Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

o Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for audit purposes.

6. Coordination and Communication:

o Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

o Communicate effectively with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, and vendors.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as an Accounts Officer or similar role.

• Proficiency in Tally ERP and GST filing.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA) is a plus.

• Experience in handling tax audits and assessments.

• Knowledge of other accounting software and ERP systems.
