About the Organization:

PRASARI (legal name Rajarhat PRASARI) is a non-profit organization registered under Societies Registration Act, West Bengal. The organization has been established in 2007. PRASARI initiates work from the periphery of a community with a long-term perspective for the area and its people. It endeavours to provide a work environment, in which professionals enjoy freedom of thought and expression and have the space for innovation, learning and growth, within the context of making a difference to the lives of rural people. PRASARI works in West Bengal’s four agro-climatic zones—northern hill, terai Teesta alluvial, coastal saline and undulating red-lateritic zone. It operates in eight districts of West Bengal, and in parts of Meghalaya and Jharkhand (Santhal Parganas).

The thematic areas it attempts to address are:

Water security

o Income security

o Nutrition and hygiene security

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Planning, and capacity building of the community on resource-based livelihood

2. Providing handholding support to the community based on the identified need

3. Convergence and liaison with government departments and other stakeholders

4. Day-to-day monitoring, critical and technical support to the community

5. Preparing reports, case studies, blogs, and other documents as per need

6. Documentation of the success stories, and learnings from actions

7. Working in cohesion with the team

8. Any other activities as per the need of the team and situation

Qualification & Experience:

1. Graduates and postgraduates with (10+2+4/10+2+3+2) academic qualifications

2. Willingness to work at the grass root level

3. Be very energetic and have self-learning abilities with flexible working hours

4. Professional within three years of working experience. Freshers are also welcome.

Period of Contract: Initially the contract will be for One year, it is likely to be renewed based on the performance and willingness of both.

Remuneration: As per organization’s policy
