Job Summary:
The Community Social Worker will play a pivotal role in promoting and protecting the rights of children in the community. This position involves direct interaction with children, families, community members, and various stakeholders to ensure a safe and supportive environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of child rights and demonstrate a strong commitment to advocating for the welfare and protection of children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Child Protection and Advocacy:
Identify, assess, and respond to cases of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Advocate for the implementation and enforcement of child protection policies and laws.
Work closely with local authorities, child protection committees, and other stakeholders to safeguard children's rights.
2. Community Engagement and Education:
Conduct community awareness campaigns on child rights and protection.
Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions for parents, children, and community members.
Foster a culture of child protection and rights within the community.
3. Networking and Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong relationships with local NGOs, government agencies, schools, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate with child protection committees and other relevant community groups.
Participate in local and regional forums and networks focused on child rights.
Lead awareness campaigns and training on child marriage and child trafficking.
Provide support to victims of child trafficking and child exploitation.
Qualifications:
• Education: Any Bachelor’s degree or Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in child protection, social work, or community development.
• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of child rights laws, policies, and best practices in India.
• Skills: Strong communication, counseling, and advocacy skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations; excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Personal Attributes: Empathy, patience, resilience, and a strong commitment to child welfare.
• Fluency in English and local languages.
• Proficiency in computer skills for program documentation.
Salary: 9000 per month including PF.
