Job Description

Overview of Programme:

With the aim of further reaching to more and more people and empowering the marginalized community, VVS is going to work in 9 districts of 4 states-MP, Rajasthan, HP and Uttarakhand in 3 regions-, arid ,semi-arid and mountain especially with marginalized and vulnerable community. The objective of this programme is to increase livelihood options and food security of poor and vulnerable communities and also increase leadership qualities and institutional capacities of CBOs/POs. The programme is focused with issues of concern like livelihood and food security, climate change induced disaster & impact on agriculture and gender discrimination.

VVS invites application for the following position;

Position: Programme Associate (06).

Location: Shivpuri MP, Jaipur Raj, Dehradun UK

Roles and responsibilities:

• Planning and budgeting of the programme as per the project requirements.

• Effective execution of plans/programmes, maintain database and handholding support to social mobilisers/volunteers.

• Periodic monitoring & review of programmes and budget/expenditures.

• Mobilizing and strengthening of community groups.

• Establishing systems and processes at community groups for planning, execution, record maintenance and local resource mobilization for sustenance of community groups.

• Facilitating the capacity building programmes for the community groups and their representatives.

• Establishing linkages with government departments and other institutions/stakeholders at block/district level on the issues of the poor and marginalized community.

• Facilitating campaigns/dialogues on the issues of rights and entitlements of these community groups.

• Undertake research, documentation of programme activity and case studies of achievements, maintain programme level data reporting of the programme report as and when required.

• Take lead in organizing field level program activities, orient and strengthen Volunteers/community mobilisers to drive or take forward community groups.

• Monthly review of the programme activities, assess its progress outcome/results for the impact and effectiveness of the project.

• Report to and support Programme Coordinator for planning of activities with timelines, reporting and .project documentation.


Qualification: Graduate/Post graduate in social science/Master’s degree in Social work/Rural Development from reputed institute.


Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience in social development sector particularly with dalit groups on the issues of community mobilization and group management, livelihood and food security, gender, local self-governance, climate change-disaster risk reduction. Excellent communication and documentation skills in English as well as Hindi, having proficiency in MS word, MS excel, power point will be added advantage.


Salary: CTC will be approx. 32,500/- per month however it will be commensurate with the qualifications, skills and work experience. Field travel cost will be reimbursed as per the organizational guide line/finance policy and this will be exclusive of the salary. Other social security benefits like provident fund etc. will be applicable as per government guideline.


Note: The job will require extensive travel across the state.
