Job Description

Overview of Programme:

With the aim of further reaching to more and more people and empowering the marginalized community, VVS is going to work in 9 districts of 4 states-MP, Rajasthan, HP and Uttarakhand in 3 regions-, arid ,semi-arid and mountain especially with marginalized and vulnerable community. The objective of this programme is to increase livelihood options and food security of poor and vulnerable communities and also increase leadership qualities and institutional capacities of CBOs/POs. The programme is focused with issues of concern like livelihood and food security, climate change induced disaster & impact on agriculture and gender discrimination.

VVS invites application for the following position;

Position: Project Coordinator (03).

Location: Shivpuri MP, Jaipur Raj, Dehradun UK


Roles and responsibilities:

• Lead in developing activity plans/work plans and budget with timelines and effective execution of planned activity.

• Documentation of programme activity report and case studies of achievement.

• Organise field level activity-training, meeting with teams and ensure smooth function of day to day programme operations.

• Coordination with programme team and finance person for effective planning and assigning task to team members for operations.

• Conduct survey and basic information target villages.

• Liaison with local government agencies, Sub-centre/PHC/ASHA/ANM at Panchayat /Block and district level.

• Mobilise resource persons and other stakeholders for training and workshops.

• Facilitate campaigns and block/district level consultations on the issues that affecting the target community.

• Identify capacity gaps among team members & community leaders and facilitate the process of capacity enhancement.

• Adherence to the project guidelines, principles and requirements of programmes and finance matters.

• Closely work with finance persons to comply with finance policy and IT rules.

• Report to and support to the senior management on project matters and organisational issues.

• Manage field level office administration and logistic requirements/procurements.


Qualification: Post graduate in social science/Master’s degree in Social work/Rural Development from reputed institute.


Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in social development sector particularly with tribal, marginalised community and vulnerable groups on the issues of community mobilisation, group management, livelihood and food security, gender, local self-governance, climate change-disaster risk reduction. The candidate should have ability to manage team of programme and finance staff. Excellent communication and documentation skills in English as well as Hindi, having proficiency in MS word, MS excel, power point is essential.


Salary: CTC will be approx. 42,000/- per month however it will be commensurate with the qualifications, skills and work experience. Field travel cost will be reimbursed as per the organizational guide line and this will be exclusive of the salary. Other social security benefits like provident fund etc. will be applicable as per government guideline.


Note: The job will require extensive travel across the state.
