Location: Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)
Job Purpose:
Amar Jyoti Yuvak Sangha (AJYS)is implementing Harpic world toilet College in Varnasi . The State lead needs to ensure quality interventions and implementation of program, procurement procedures, financial management, Liaoning with stakeholders, reporting and steering the program along with the local CSO partners. The state lead will be coordinating with partners to achieve successful implementation of program activities in line with AJYS and Donor contractual obligations and standards.
Program Objective: The Harpic World Toilet College program aims to provide a dignified livelihood to sanitation workers by focusing on capacity building and behaviour change initiatives. The program endeavours to enhance the skills, knowledge, and overall well-being of sanitation workers, enabling them to work more efficiently, safely, and with improved dignity.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Program Planning and Strategy:
• Develop a comprehensive state-level plan for the implementation of the Harpic World Toilet College program.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government bodies(ULBs, Municipal Corporation NGOs, and corporate partners, to align strategies and maximize program impact.
• Analyze the local sanitation worker landscape to identify specific needs and challenges faced by the workers in the state.
2. Capacity Building Program:
• Design and oversee the implementation of capacity building Training programs for sanitation workers.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create training modules that cover technical skills, hygiene practices, health and safety protocols, and soft skills.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for sanitation workers across the state.
3. Behavior Change Initiatives:
• Develop behavior change communication programs to promote awareness and positive attitudes towards sanitation workers in society.
• Implement behavior change programs that target both the general public and stakeholders to foster respect and empathy towards sanitation workers.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress and impact of the program.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of capacity building and behavior change interventions and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on the program's achievements, challenges, and learnings to the higher management and program partners.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Foster strong relationships with government authorities, Municipalities, local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to garner support and collaboration.
• Represent the Harpic World Toilet College program at state-level meetings, conferences, and events related to sanitation and livelihood improvement.
• Ensure Participation in different events to promote the activities in the state and celebration of significant days related to hygiene and sanitation.
6. Team Management:
• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of dedicated program staff and trainers.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the team to ensure smooth program execution.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
• Preparation of Annual report, Monthly report ,Special event report to Senior authority .
• Documentation of activities and timely submission.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 Year experience in program management, preferably in the field of sanitation, livelihood, or behavior change in Govt. or NGO sector .
• Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene issues, especially those related to sanitation workers.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in conducting training and capacity building activities is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation practices and data analysis.
• Sensitivity to the needs and challenges faced by sanitation workers and a passion for improving their livelihoods.
• Fluency in the local language(s) of the state is essential, along with proficiency in English.
• He / She must have owned a motor cycle with valid Driving license .
Salary-: 30 to 50 thousand INR .
