Job Summary: The Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute is being set up to provide cataract surgeries and eye related surgeries free of cost to rural population in and around Kolhapur district. Chaitanyam Eye Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Surgeon Consultant to join the team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing cataract surgeries and providing comprehensive ophthalmic care. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Cataract Surgeries: Conduct advanced cataract surgeries, including phacoemulsification and other relevant techniques, ensuring precision and optimal results.
• Patient Evaluation: Assess and diagnose patients’ eye conditions, develop treatment plans, and discuss options with patients and their families.
• Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Provide thorough pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups, ensuring comprehensive care and addressing any complications.
• Collaborate with Medical Team: Work closely with ophthalmic nurses, optometrists, and other medical staff to deliver integrated patient care.
• Maintain Medical Records: Document patient interactions, surgical procedures, and treatment outcomes accurately in the electronic medical records system.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in ophthalmology and cataract surgery techniques, and incorporate best practices into patient care.
• Patient Education: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and post-surgery care to promote informed decision-making and adherence to treatment plans.
• Mobile Eye Clinic: Supervise and oversee the rural outreach program using a mobile eye van to enhance referrals and extend the coverage of the centre’s services.
Qualifications:
• Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical institution.
• Specialization: MS in Ophthalmology or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology.
• Certification: Board certification in Ophthalmology and relevant surgical certifications.
• Experience: Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in performing cataract surgeries in a clinical setting. Experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent surgical skills, strong diagnostic abilities, and effective communication skills.
• Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
