Organization Description:

 

Tamas Society, an NGO is based out of Kolkata, West Bengal, working in eastern part of India since its inception way back in 2009. Looking for expansion across PAN INDIA in woman livelihood (various Industry aligned Products hands-on skill training like Leather-Jute-Handicrafts items, forward linkage (domestic & export) & microcredit. State of the Art Model Training cum Production Centre (MTCP) is being located in South 24 Parganas, “Piyali”, West Bengal. (Under construction)

 

Our Mission : TS envisions to empower 5000 woman by 2025-2026 across India by imparting various livelihood skill training, supervise production & help them sell their merchandise across global market, so that they can contribute to their family and the community they belong to.

 

Role Description

The Program Manager at Tamas Society will be a key leadership role responsible for designing, executing, and managing our Woman Livelihood program. You will work closely with stakeholders, community leaders, and staff to ensure that our programs are impactful, sustainable, and aligned with our mission and strategic goals. The Program Manager will take ownership of the full program lifecycle, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities and experience managing a team. Total field work backed up by Work from home facilities. No office reporting is necessary on daily basis for the first 03 months while in probation period.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·      Program Development and Management:

  • Develop and implement program strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of new and ongoing programs, ensuring they are scalable, sustainable, and community-driven.

·      Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, partners, funders, and external stakeholders to enhance program impact.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify emerging needs and opportunities for new programs or initiatives.

·      Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of program coordinators and support staff, fostering a collaborative, results-driven work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support in managing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting challenges, and ensuring program staff has the resources they need to succeed.

·      Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Oversee program budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements and provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and funders on program performance.

·      Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of programs and inform future decision-making.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on program data via Salesforce CRM

·      Advocacy and Communications:

  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization’s programs, representing Tamas Society in public forums, media engagements, making YouTube videos and at partner events.

Specific JD / Micro niche

a)   Formation of new SHGs & taking control of existing SHGs in rural areas.

b)   Opening multiple CTCs (Community Training Centres) across remote rural areas of eastern zone in presence of dignitaries

c)   Community Mobilization & screening of eligible Woman beneficiaries for imparting livelihood skill training, supervise production, Forward linkage (Domestic & Export)

d)   Mobilizing Volunteers / Interns

e)   Liaison with various stakeholders like Panchayat, BDO, DM, NGOs, Corporates & other resource persons.

f)     Supervision on Training and preparing MIS.

g)   Organizing various fundraising events involving beneficiaries and various stakeholders throughout the year. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in program management, preferably within a non-profit, community organization, or social impact space.
  • Age limit : 28-45 years is preferable.
  • Proven track record of forming new SHGs & mobilize them successfully. Person with more Number of potential SHGs currently in hand shall clearly have the edge.
