About Jeevika Development Society

Jeevika Development Society is a community-based Non-Governmental Organization

(NGO) working since the early 1990s, being registered under the West Bengal Society’s Act in the year 1994, in the district of South 24-Parganas of West Bengal in India, with a mission to promote social and economic justice for women by challenging patriarchal norms while ensuring environmental sustainability.


Responsibilities:

? Knowledge of implementing projects on Sustainable Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and aligned activities, with a special focus on women farmers.

? Manage, coordinate, and keep project-related track (will include, program management, monitoring, and documentation).

? Budget Preparation, overall detailed planning of the program according to the budget, and review from time to time.

? Travel as required to visit and engage for on-site program implementation like conducting field meetings, and organizing campaigns.

? Represent the organization effectively in various forums – meetings with stakeholders, and government functionaries.

? Manage and support team members to work according to the project requirements.

? Capacity Building of the Nutrition Gardeners, and farmers and providing technical inputs.

? Organizing Workshop for capacity enhancement of staff and beneficiaries.

? Helping to coordinate the program for women’s empowerment as per the necessity of the program with the other units of Jeevika such as Alor Disha, and Alor Barta.


Qualification:

? Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, or Development.

? Prior experience of at least two/three years of work in the development sector in programs related to Sustainable Agriculture, Climate Change.

? Proficiency in English and Bengali (written and oral/verbal) is essential.

? Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

? Preferred: Demonstrated ability to take and lead initiatives.


Remuneration: Rs.20000/- per month.
