Job Description

Happy Child Happy Family Program is a collaborative community based mental health intervention for Children of the age 0 to 18 years and their Parents in urban slums of Pune namely, Tadiwala Rd, Yerawada and Parvati Paytha (Janta Vasahat). The focus of the program is mental health promotion & prevention and early identification & intervention for children living with mental health distress or illness.


Role Description

This is a full-time on-field Community Officer & Community Support Officer role at Parivartan Trust, located in Pune. Both the community officer & community support officer will work together in identifying children of the age 0 to 18 and their parents for group intervention- ManasRang on mental health from the said Urban Slums. They will also be responsible to facilitate the intervention.


Roles and Responsibilities:

• Will report to Program Co-ordinator

• Conduct household survey for identification of children and their parents for group intervention- ManasRang (expressive art based group therapy)

• Duly filling up data collection forms, questionnaires, and provide daily reports

• Identifying and enrolling children living with mental disorders and mental distress from said communities

• Providing psychosocial interventions for identified children and their family

• Facilitation & conducting group intervention- ManasRang in community centres of each slum

• Conducting small group meetings and community awareness programs

• Undertake activities that are assigned by Intervention facilitator or program co-ordinator


Key Qualifications and Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: A Master's degree in psychiatric social work or Masters in Social Work (MSW) with experience in community mental health

• Technical Skills: Familiar with data collection on mobile & tablets

• Work Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in community mental health or working in health in urban slums

• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Marathi is a MUST.
