Qualifications needed: MSW with experience in research
The Study Counselor is responsible for providing support to participants involved in clinical trials. This role involves counseling participants, ensuring compliance with trial protocols, collecting data, and liaising with other members of the clinical team. The Study Counselor plays a critical role in maintaining participant well-being and ensuring the integrity of the trial.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participant Counseling:
o Provide psychological and emotional support to participants throughout the clinical trial.
o Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to address participant concerns and enhance adherence to trial protocols.
o Educate participants about the trial processes, potential risks, benefits, and their rights.
2. Data Collection and Documentation:
o Assist in the collection of participant data, including medical history, current health status, and trial-specific metrics.
o Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all interactions with participants and data collected during the trial filling the CRFs, and other study materials.
3. Participant Recruitment and Retention:
o Assist in the enrolling participants by providing detailed information about the study from relevant OPD’s
o Checking their eligilibility
o Retaining participants and minimize dropout rates with help of effective communication
4. Compliance and Ethical Standards:
o Ensure participants provide informed consent before enrolling in the trial.
o Monitor participant adherence to trial protocols and report any deviations
o Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards as per the protocol.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
o Communicate effectively with participants, addressing their questions and concerns promptly.
6. Support Services:
o Provide referrals to additional support services as needed, such as medical, psychological, or social services.
o Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for participants
