Job Description

Aim:

To create comprehensive nursing assistants who can provide basic nursing care to babies admitted in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

Course Details :

Duration : 2 Years

Eligibility Criteria :

· Completed SSC and Intermediate with an aggregate of 50% or higher.

· Age group should be 18-20 years.

· Who are from economically underprivileged families.

· Sourced from orphanages / NGOs in Hyderabad.

Objectives:

· Understand basic newborn care in NICU

· Learn to recognize a sick newborn, understand common newborn disorders, learn feeding

of low-birth-weight babies, help mothers in Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC),learn to

address non-nutritive sucking (NINS), identify and address challenges with breastfeeding,

developmental supportive care, family centric care etc.

· Communicate effectively with mothers /families.

· Gain knowledge and understand various processes involved in NICU for both new

born and mother's cares. Assist in basic procedures in NICU like IV canulation, ROP

exam, preparing bed and nest, blood transfusion.

Course Completion:

· On Completion of this program, they need to serve for 1 year in Rainbow Children Hospital.

· After Completion of 2 years of training / service, successful candidates will be awarded a course completion and experience certificate by Rainbow Children's Hospital.

Mode of Selection:

· Written test and interview

· The entire course is at no cost to the student.

· Stipend will be given.

· Shoes and Dress will be provided

· Accommodation and food: Rainbow Hospital Nursing Hostel.
