_Job Title:_ Project Engineer
_Location:_ Rajasthan (with frequent travel to rural areas)
_Reports to:_ Project Manager/Head of Programs
_Job Summary:_
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to lead the technical aspects of our rural development projects in Rajasthan. The successful candidate will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of:
- Watershed development projects
- School and health infrastructure improvement projects
- Community lift irrigation schemes
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering/ agricultural engineering, or a related field, and experience working in rural development.
_Key Responsibilities:_
1. _Project Planning and Design:_
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and estimates for projects.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations.
2. _Project Implementation:_
- Oversee the construction and implementation of projects.
- Manage contractors, laborers, and vendors.
- Ensure quality control and timely completion of projects.
3. _Monitoring and Evaluation:_
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress.
- Prepare project reports, including progress updates, financial reports, and impact assessments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
4. _Community Engagement:_
- Liaise with local communities, government officials, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure community participation and ownership of projects.
5. _Team Management:_
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and project staff.
- Build capacity of local communities and project beneficiaries.
_Requirements:_
1. _Education:_ Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Civil Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering
- Water Resources Engineering
- Related field
2. _Experience:_ Minimum 5 years of experience in rural development, infrastructure development, or a related field.
3. _Skills:_
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering, agricultural engineering, and project management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work in rural areas and travel frequently.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English (written and spoken).
_Desirable Qualifications:_
1. Experience working with NGOs or government agencies in rural development.
2. Knowledge of watershed development, school, and health infrastructure improvement projects.
3. Familiarity with government schemes and regulations related to rural development.
4. Experience with community lift irrigation schemes and agricultural water management.
