Field Officer – Financial Literacy & Inclusion Program (Hojai)


Location: Rural Assam


Role Summary:

The Field Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating field-level activities for a financial literacy and inclusion program in rural Assam. This role will involve working closely with volunteers, facilitating their training and capacity building, and ensuring effective program implementation on the ground. The Field Officer will act as a key link between the project management team and the field-level volunteers, ensuring that financial literacy and inclusion goals are achieved within the target communities.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Volunteer Management:

- Identify, recruit, and manage a network of local volunteers.

- Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers working in the field.

- Monitor volunteer performance and address any challenges or issues that arise.


2. Training & Capacity Building:

- Conduct training sessions for volunteers on financial literacy, inclusion methodologies, and community outreach strategies.

- Organize and facilitate workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of volunteers in areas like banking, savings, budgeting, and financial planning.

- Provide coaching and mentorship to volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver program content effectively.


3. Field Coordination:

- Plan and oversee field activities, ensuring the program is implemented in alignment with its objectives and timelines.

- Support volunteers in organizing financial literacy sessions, awareness campaigns, and other community engagement activities.

- Ensure effective communication between volunteers and the project management team to address field-level challenges.


4. Community Engagement:

- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and organizations to foster collaboration and support for the program.

- Work with community leaders to ensure that the program is culturally relevant and accepted by the local population.

- Conduct regular community meetings to gather feedback and assess the program’s impact.


5. Monitoring & Reporting:

- Track the progress of field activities and volunteer engagement, ensuring targets are met.

- Collect and report data on program outcomes, including volunteer performance and community participation.

- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the project management team, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.


6. Program Improvement:

- Identify gaps and areas for improvement in the program implementation and propose solutions.

- Provide insights and feedback from the field to enhance the training materials and program delivery methods.


Qualifications and Skills:


- Bachelor’s degree preferably in in Social Work, Rural Development, Community Development, or related fields.

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in community development or financial literacy programs, preferably in rural areas.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

- Ability to work with diverse groups and manage field-level teams.

- Experience in training and capacity building, especially with volunteers or community workers.

- Fluency in Assamese and working knowledge of English.

- Willingness to travel extensively within the district.


Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of financial literacy concepts, banking systems, and government financial inclusion

schemes.

- Experience working with grassroots organizations or NGOs in rural settings.

- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to dynamic field environments.


Compensation:

14-16k depending on the experience in the respective field, along with travel allowances.
