Mauna Dhwani Foundation (https://maunadhwani.org) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Bangalore, dedicated to the revival and support of handloom weavers in the Mayurbhanj region, particularly in Udala. Our mission is to empower weavers through skill development, capacity building, and by fostering entrepreneurship among them. We work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to create sustainable livelihoods for weavers.
Job Summary:
We are looking for two dedicated and experienced Program Managers to lead our initiatives in Udala, Mayurbhanj. The Program Managers will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our programs, managing a team of 10-12 employees, and ensuring the effective operation of our handloom and handicraft centers. The ideal candidates will have experience in working with handloom clusters, familiarity with NABARD programs, and a passion for rural development. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership: Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the foundation’s programs in Udala, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives.
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of 10-12 employees, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
Field Visits: Regularly visit handloom and handicraft centers to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure the quality and effectiveness of program activities.
Cluster Management: Oversee the development and management of handloom clusters, ensuring the successful execution of initiatives aimed at skill development and entrepreneurship.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and partner organizations.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges, and maintain accurate documentation of all program-related work.
Collaboration with NABARD: Work closely with NABARD and other financial institutions to leverage support for program initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Business Management, Rural Management, Social Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing programs in the handloom, handicraft, or rural development sector.
Experience of working with handloom clusters and knowledge of the challenges faced by the traditional weavers.
Familiarity with NABARD programs and their application in rural development.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a rural setting and lead a diverse team.
