Position: Academic Facilitator - After School Support Programme
Profile Description: Lead, Manage and support the complete Academic Process of the After School Programme, Grade 9 to Grade 12 across all streams. Ensure that each child is tracked, focused on academically for improvements and continues to remain in the learning process.
Organization: Vidya & Child
Timing: 10.30 to 7.30 (Monday to Saturday, Second and Fourth Saturdays are off)
Location – Base location – Sector 37, Noida, and rotation to other centres in Sector 128, Sector 49, Sector 62
Target working group – Grade 9 to 12
Vidya & Child works in marginalized communities, exploring the unique potential in each child by providing opportunities for value integrated learning and development. The organization is currently based in Noida, India, with funding from International and National corporates, funding organizations and individual donors.
Vidya & Child has Schools in low-income communities from Nursery to Class 8, and an After School Support Programme for Class 9 to 12. Started in 1998 with 2 children and today, Vidya & Child engages with 1,700 children most of whom are first generation learners! Vidya & Child has established a model of engagement to ensure that each child completes school education, is skill enabled through professional or vocational education.
A very strong parent programme exists so that as a team “The Parent” and “Vidya & Child” can support a child through school and support till completion of school education. Our Arts & Performing Arts Programme, engagement in Sports and an intensive Life Skills programme further enhance the holistic engagement with each Child from Nursery to Class 12.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Academic Coordination work for Grade 9 to Grade 12 children and teachers
· Working with teachers and children for identifying best syllabus planning for each subject
· Devising parameters on basis of which syllabus planning will be done.
· Identifying needs of individual children and get it included in the planning as well as implementation.
· Careful study of timetable and calendar and effectively utilizing these tools for academic improvement of the group as well as individual children
· Direct work with children who need extra support and motivation in academics.
· Individual meetings and reviews with teachers – syllabus, conceptual learning, identification of new / alternative methods of teaching
· Ensuring effective learning tools are available. Eg: worksheets are made keeping the child is mind.
· Focusing more towards “Learning” in children rather than “Teaching”
· Organizing group / individual feedback / review systems between teachers and children
· Participating in Child wise review process – giving inputs, getting inputs, identifying actions for the holistic development of every single child
· Providing feedback and input into group owner process, parent programme process and career process as and when required
· Attending Parent meetings along with teachers
· Devising training plans for teachers
· Keeping abreast with new developments in NCERT, CBSE, Education space, online / offline alternative ways of teaching etc. and bringing relevant points into the systems at Vidya & Child.
· Supporting HR team in devising parameters and methodologies for better recruitment of teachers
· Participating in teacher recruitment process as required

Minimum Expectations
· Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in Academic coordination in a proper school, prior experience in Teaching is also equally important in environment / NGO that works in education space with older children (Grade 9 to Grade 12)
· Good knowledge of at least two subjects from 9 to 12 Subject knowledge is critical, more importantly exposure level of the candidate will be given preference, and person must be skilled in being able to understand the academic system of schools, and link that to what is happening in ASSP.
· Ability and focus on conceptual learning and not marks- oriented, rote learning approach.
· Organizing ability and process-oriented approach
· Independent in working and ability to work with diversity of people (especially qualified teachers)
· Readiness to do direct work with children (and not just manage / coordinate)
· Ability to engage with children (example – self-study planning etc.)
· Understanding of CBSE, NCF etc.
· Good knowledge of Computers and English language – both written and spoken
Post Graduation - MSW
Strong understanding of various learning styles and strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in educational technology and tools for student assessment
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Experience in conflict resolution and student advocacy
