Responsibilities 1. Facility Management: Ensuring the hostel premises are well-maintained, clean, and safe for residents and visitors. This includes regular inspections of rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and other facilities to ensure they meet cleanliness and safety standards.
2. Administration and Reception Duties : Maintain and update the student's record such as date of Joining and date of leaving, Address, Phone no ect. Issue gate passes to students and take attendance daily. Providing necessary information about the hostel’s facilities and rules and addressing their concerns or complaints. Maintain Guest Room Data
3. Security and Safety : Maintaining a secure environment for residents and their belongings. Monitoring access to the hostel, handling emergencies or incidents, and following safety protocols. Maintenance Coordination : Coordinating repairs and maintenance work for the hostel’s infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general upkeep. Liaising with maintenance staff or contractors to ensure timely resolution of issues.
4. Inventory and Supplies Management: Keeping track of inventory levels, ordering suppliers, and maintainig adequate stock to meet the hostel’s needs.
5. Financial Management : Handling and managing billing and invoicing, maintaining financial records, and reporting any discrepancies or issues to the management.
6. Student Service and Support : Helping students and parents, addressing their inquiries, and ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay. Resolving conflicts or disputes among students and enforcing hostel policies.
7. Team Coordination: Supervising and managing a team of cleaning staff, security personnel, and other support staff. Providing guidance and scheduling to ensure efficient operations Compliance with Regulations : Ensuring that the hostel operates in compliance with per institute rule and regulation, health and safety standards, and any other requirements.
8. Emergency Preparedness : Being prepared to handle emergencies such as medical situations fire drills, or evacuations. Implementing emergency protocols and guiding students and staff during crisis situations.
9. Especially for Superintendents: The above points are required for hostel staff irrespective of their designations. Apart from that, Senior / Junior hostel superintendents are expected to be able to display the highest level of leadership qualities and take care of the overall responsibilities of the respective hostels.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or MSW
2. Through knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, E-Mail etc.
3. 5 – 10 Years of relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry after Bachelor’s degree.
Desirable :
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Age :
Preferably between – 35- 45 years.
