SAHELI - MULTIPLE POSITIONS
Society for Agriculture Health Environment Literacy Innovations (SAHELI) is a women-led NGO working in the districts of Balasore and Mayurbhanj in Odisha.SAHELI has its head office in Basta (Balasore district) and field office in Baripada (Mayurbhanj district). It is inviting applications to various positions for a new project to be implemented in Rasgovindpur CD Block of Mayurbhanj districts. These positions shall be placed in the head office of SAHELI in Basta.
1. Project Coordinator
a. Number of vacancies – 1
b. Nature of work – full time
c. Place of work – Basta with frequent travels to the target villages
d. Job description – the important functions of the position include the following, but not limited to:
a. Overall responsibility for managing the project
b. Develop a project implementation plan and diligently execute the same
c. Give leadership to carry out all the planned project activities within the stipulated time and as per the expected quality
d. Guide and monitor the fieldwork and the Field Workers
e. Ensure proper spending of the project funds as per the project contract within the legal framework and as per the organizational policies
f. Guide the part-time Accounts Officer of the project and support him/her in generating periodic financial reports
g. Maintain and update the project MIS
h. Generate periodic reports on the progress of the project for various groups of audience
i. Undertake routine field work for supportive supervision
j. Maintain collaborative relationships with all secondary stakeholders such as the functionaries of the ICDS, the DCPU, the leaders and members of PRI, schoolteachers and school authorities, the police, etc.
k. Represent the project in the meetings, conferences, etc. relevant to the project activities
l. Report the progress of the project regularly to the Director and act according to the guidance of the Director
m. Be an ex-officio member of the Programme Monitoring Committee of SAHELI
n. Undertake any other activity deemed to be required for the project as well as the organization and suggested by the Director
e. Qualification
a. Postgraduate in Social Sciences is essential
b. Master of Social Work is preferred
c. Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer applications
d. Certificate/Diploma/Degree in social services and gender studies
f. Experience
a. Minimum five years in similar positions and independently managing development projects
b. Minimum three years in the activities for protecting (defending) child rights
c. Exposure to the programmes in preventing child marriage and gender-based violence
d. Experience in holding life skill education for the adolescent population
e. Experience in working together with the ICDS, the DCPU, the PRI, and the schools
g. Language proficiency
a. Be able to read, write, and able to speak in Odia and English
b. Be able to understand Hindi
c. Be able to independently manage MS Office packages, Internet Explorer, skype or Google Meet, social media operations, etc.
d. Ability to understand tribal dialect will be an advantage
h. Other requirements
a. Interest in working with the village population
b. Commitment to gender equity and gender justice
c. Willingness to relocate to Basta
d. Willingness to work in difficult situations and beyond office hours whenever required
e. Learning aptitude
f. Understanding of the legal framework for gender and child rights, project and NGO management, finance management
g. Demonstrated proficiency in text and visual documentation.
h. Skills in conflict resolution through mediation with different parties.

2. Field Officers
a. Number of vacancies – 2
b. Nature of work – full time
c. Place of work – Based in Basta in nearby villages
d. Job description - the important functions of the position include the following, but not limited to:
a. Responsible for implementing all project activities in the Gram Panchayath(s) assigned as per the approved project and under the guidance of the Project Coordinator
b. Undertake regular visits to the villages falling within the assigned Gram Panchayath(s)
c. Establish and nurture good and operational relationships with the primary stakeholders (adolescent population and their parents as well as the existing CBOs of these stakeholders) in the area assigned
d. Establish and nurture good and operational relationships with the secondary stakeholders (AWW, ASHA, Supervisor, CDPO, schoolteachers the police, the representatives of the PRI, etc.) and authorities, adolescent population, and their parents) in the area assigned
e. Take steps to organize bodies like AGGS
f. Hold various capacity-building and awareness enhancement activities for the target population (primary stakeholders)
g. Collaborate with all secondary stakeholders
h. Ensure the regular meetings of the AGGs
