Shaping Career Education Society, a leading NGO in skill development, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sociologist/ Community Mobilizer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our skill training programs and involves mobilizing students, handling data, and coordinating between various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, experience with community outreach, and technical proficiency in data entry and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Mobilization Drives: Organize and support mobilization efforts in targeted clusters to identify and enroll youth and adults for skill development programs.
Student Counseling & Guidance: Engage with students to identify their skills, aspirations, and needs, providing career counseling and guiding them through program enrollment.
Government Schemes Management: Stay updated on skill training schemes and ensure their efficient implementation.
Accurate Data Entry & Reporting: Enter data into relevant government portals and maintain organized records.
Class Coordination & Scheduling: Coordinate class schedules between trainers and students to ensure smooth training sessions.
Documentation & Record Keeping: Manage all program-related documents, including attendance, assessments, and reports.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison between students, trainers, government officials, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
Tech Proficiency: Utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reports, presentations, and managing communications.
Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for youth and adults to identify strengths and limitations, facilitating their journey through the program.
Guide and support participants through the entire training process, from mobilization to job placement.
Work closely with Community to ensure effective outreach and engagement with targeted communities.
Maintain and collect program data, ensuring accurate reporting for internal use and government requirements.
Build strong, trusted relationships with participants and ensure continuous engagement and motivation.
Qualifications:
Education: BA Sociologist or MA Sociologist
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in mobilization, data entry, or managing skill training schemes.
Skills:
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Added Advantage: Experience working with government portals and managing documentation for skill development programs.
