Job Description:
Understand the needs of the garment industry and shape the course to enable the trainees to compete
To plan, teach and evaluate courses that meet the learning needs of students in the broad field of sewing & garment construction.
Taking measurements, Pattern making and cutting of various garments using different types of fabric.
Teach in a flexible and creative way.
Work co-operatively within the programme as a team member.
Teach students the rudiments of pricing and marketing.
Provide and work to a course outline, schemes of work, lesson plans and individual project briefs as required.
Designing, preparing and teaching patterns of current fashion trends in Indian & Western wear.
Embroidery & finishing techniques.
Active engagement in placement of trainees. Follow up on status of Placements.
Guide the Shop Assistant in Stocking of the Shop.
Maintain the arrangement and turnover in the Shop. Weed out items that do not sell and stock up with trendy fast selling items.
Make requisition for fabric and equipment for the boutique.
Maintain stock register of fabric, lace and trims for audit.
Update the Prospectus and application forms.
Organize exhibitions and contact potential customers and retailers, marketing etc.
Reporting the progress of the trainees for Bi-annual and Annual report.
Education: 1) Diploma/Degree in Fashion dress designing & tailoring with Embroidery 2) Qualification relevant to tailoring & garment construction 3) Diploma and Certificate course in marketing Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in the following criteria • Teaching adults in tailoring, garment construction, alterations, hand & machine sewing. • Be able to confidently and competently teach a specialist subject to a high standard within the field of sewing, designing & clothes making. • An understanding of Fashion trends & Production & Marketing knowledge • Networking and Placement of Trainees Smart Experience and qualified person are welcome for the position
