Job Description

The Human Resources Manager will provide high level services and strategic direction in one or more of the following human resource functions: employee relations, compensation, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training, organizational development and recruiting.  S/he reports to the Director of Finance & Operations and will work closely with Asst. Manager Finance & Administration. The position is based in New Delhi with some amount of travel to program locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The HR Manager will develop strategic business partnerships with senior leaders and liaisons at the business unit level to establish and implement strategic HR direction to meet TNC's organizational goals and mission.

1.Advances, Supports and participates in recruitments across different levels of organization within India, as well as short and long term internal recruitments from within TNC network.  Independently handles initial screening of candidates and organize interview of the shortlisted candidates with the hiring manager, Core Management Team and key staff as needed.

2.Maintains complete record of the hiring processes and conducts/ advances reference checks of the selected candidates engaging hiring manager and Core Management Team members as appropriate.

3.Plan, organize and lead high-quality onboarding and induction program for the new staff.  Ensure that all new staff has completed the mandatory online training modules within 30 days of their joining.

4.Ensure that the Performance Management System is applied and quarterly check-in’s are scheduled, conducted and feedback both provided and recorded. Support new staff in developing Performance Management Scorecard and 90 days review.

5.Identifies staff capacity gaps working with Core Management Team and identifies training resources and helps build team and individual staff capacity.

6.Develops an effective strategy for reinforcing core organizational values and builds/promotes high performance and results oriented work culture.

7.Handles all employee queries pertaining to HR and Admin. policies and procedures.

8.Manage existing HR and admin vendors. Negotiate complex agreements with the vendors in fast changing business environment.

9.Supports the Director of Operations in organizing and managing staff retreat, workshops and other events. Collaborate with Managing Director and others in designing retreat content.

10.Supports the team in maintaining positive, motivating and highly effective work culture and highest standard of ethics

11.Collaborates with Director of Operations and Core Management Team in rolling-out the annual performance appraisal process.

12.Ensures hiring, contracting, compensation and termination of employees and consultants are in full compliance with applicable labour laws, internal policies and procedures.

13.Assists in the development and will be the implementation lead for administration of HR standards and client services that support a decentralized and dispersed organization.

14.Provides strategic counsel and subject matter expertise to TNC employees.

15.Completes succession planning for core positions.

16.Facilitates in career development planning for employees.

17.Builds competencies and promotes clear performance management systems.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years Human Resources work experience in area(s) of specialization or equivalent combination. •Experience coordinating and leading projects. •Experience responding to HR related questions, problems and data information requests from employees/management. •Experience the following areas: database management and spreadsheet software; constructing, and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis. •Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. •Experience working with integrated Human Resources Management Systems.

Graduation - BHRM

1.Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.

2.Advanced understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.

3.Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong client service orientation.         

4.Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of individuals.

5.Excellent understanding and experience in building team culture and working in an organization where individuals are motivated by bringing change in society.

6.Negotiation skills.

7.Experience working in an international network, across different time zones.                                

8.Ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant conservation
