Scope

Creating and implementing the strategy for the mentoring and skill development program on Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship of Young People’s Initiative and Naz Carehome Young adults-Aath Kadam.

Detailed Responsibilities:

1. Execution of Aath kadam Program -Mentoring and Skills development program for Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship.

2. Creating a detailed operational plan and milestones to effectively plan the rollout of this Aath Kadam’s strategy.

3. Ensuring all the steps are executed as per the Aath Kadam proposal.

4. Exploring partnerships with various agencies for the skills development component of Aath Kadam.

5. Soft and Hard Skill Curriculum development and training.

6. Maintaining database of Aath Kadam participants, Peer Leaders, and Community Sports Coaches.

7. Communication and Follow up with the participants related to their Workplace readiness and mentoring sessions.

8. Reporting and Impact Assessment of Aath Kadam.

9. Working with the Impact Manager to capture the data and impact of the sessions with the Aath kadam participants.

10. Responsible for preparing the reports of the sessions with the target groups.

11. Explore innovative strategies to capture Aath Kadam’s impact on participants.

12. Networking for Hardskills/internships/Job placement.

13. Establishing connections for the hardskills and soft skills development agency.

14. Linkages for internship / Job placements of the participants.

15. Exploring and organizing education tours to potential corporate houses for workplace readiness.

Brief on Aath Kadam

Naz’s project Aath Kadam, Naz’s 8 steps to avail Adolescent Girls and Young Women’s access to economic opportunities, has been based on the findings as described in 1.2 (the justification) section, the Dalberg reports, Naz lessons learnt, staff views and most importantly beneficiaries need assessments.The Aath Kadam Programme wants to achieve that young women pursue their economic empowerment goals by acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviour, experience and support from mentors, parents and the industry to achieve their goals.

The eight steps (though not sequential) are:

Awareness

In the awareness step, session with adolescent girls and young women are held to create awareness among the AGYW about their attitudes and skills to pursue their life goal, to use their strength and skills to face challenges and solve problems. In this phase, AGYW are also informed about the Aath Kadam programme and recruited for the following steps.

Orientation/goal setting

Sessions wheregirls are engaged in a process in which they look at their strengths, weaknesses, support systems, etc. to set a realistic life goals.

Soft skills, health, mobility, time, GBV

The programme includes sessions on women’s rights to pursue life goals and discuss strategies on health, mobility, time and GBV, factors that either enable women to enter the work force or keep them from entering it.

Barriers & successes: creating confidence to succeed

Barriers and successes that exist in the employability, entrepreneurship and education pathway are explored.

Including parents

Parents are included in the programme to change attitudes on appropriate work, mobility, freedom of violence, availability of time for young women to pursue their goals, challenge gender attitu

Eligibility Criteria

1. Post-Graduation in Social Work or any other Social Sciences/Management from reputed institutions. 2. Minimum 5 years of experience in NGO program delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MSW

1. Strong project management and decision making skills.

2. Strong people skills, and experience in dealing with a multi-cultural team.

3. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in local languages required.

4. Strong Presentation Skills.

5. High levels of integrity and loyalty, and demonstrating initiative.
