Job Description

Role:The Finance Manager will lead the financial and accounting operations of NEG-FIRE, including overall financial monitoring, support and guidance to projects to ensure financial well-being. S/he will prepare budgets for new activities and projects, review and prepare required financial reports to funding agencies/ organizations to ensure compliance with the donor's requirements. S/he will lead the Finance team in designing and implementing financial policies, systems and processes, tax and regulatory requirements and controls, based on sound financial practices, the principles of transparency, accountability and respect for all which ensures partners capability in achieving social transformation of marginalized children.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the financial operations of NEG-FIRE and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers, etc.

2. Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures.

3. Review and develop financial policies, systems and procedures thereby reducing any sort of risk to ensure credibility of the organization and protect it from frivolous claims.

4. Set-up and operate effective financial monitoring and control systems including partners’ compliance with accounting standards, agreed policies and procedures

5. To conduct risk assessment for NEG-FIRE and all partners, analyze on a continuous basis all major risks, and ensure a system in place to identify and mitigate risks.

6. To plan organize and carry out internal audit of NEG-FIRE  partners in consultation with them, and submit timely reports to the Executive Director, Finance committee and the Board on the internal controls.

7. Ensure that all financial reporting is completed on time and submitted to donors.

8. Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, human resource Management, and administration.

9. Ensuring full compliance by NEG-FIRE, its partners with the FCRA, Foreign Exchange Management Act, Income Tax Act, PF Act and other applicable laws of the country, and legal aspects in relation to the organization.

10. To guide and train partner organization staff in good financial and accounting practices and compliance with the statutory requirements.

11. Capacity Building of partners in financial management, preparing budgets and monitoring financial progress vis-à-vis programs.

12. Analyzing funds utilized by the partner NGO as per the timeline, activity and recommend release of further funds.

13. Preparation and consolidation of Annual Budgets and Financials for placing before the Governing Board as per requirements.

14. To ensure MIS preparation and share with stake holders within specified time so that financial information will be used for decision making in future planning.

15. Provide financial management advice on revisions of budgets, preparing periodical forecasts and any changes needed

16. Managing bank accounts and overseeing money transfers between national office and regional offices.

17. Ensure uninterrupted Cash flow as per the requirement of Organization in implementing the program as per its vision.

18. Be responsible for any other task/s assigned by the line manager from time to time.

Travel Requirements: The job holder should be willing to travel extensively for program / project related activities.

Salary range:Between7.5to 9.25 lakhs (CTO) per annum depending on the overall competencies, qualifications and no. of years of relevant work experience. All our employees

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must be M.Com/ MBA in Finance from a reputed institution. CA/CA-Inter, ICWA will be an added advantage. • At least 8-10 years of experience,out of which minimum 3 years of experience in the senior management role in NGOs /INGOs or development projects in relation to grant and finance management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MBA/PGDM

1. Extensive knowledge aboutstatutes such as Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), FEMA, Income Tax, Professional Tax, Labour Laws, etc., and its applicability, particular to the development sector/ NGOs/ INGOs.

2. Thorough knowledge of principles, procedures and practices of accounting and maintenance of financial records and transactions.

3. Well conversant with Tally ERP; MS Office Applications especially advanced skills in MS Excel.

4. Should be competent to design and supervise a good MIS financial system

5. Track record of undertaking a range of tasks simultaneously, adherence to time lines and ensuring delivery of quality reports on finance and accounting

6. Strong commitment to develop, promote and practice NEG-FIRE’s vision, mission, values, and strategy.

7. Strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of the poor and disadvantaged groups.
