Job Description

The Role:

We're looking for a Major Gifts Manager for a client of ours working in the space of environment campaigning, specifically on climate change issues. This individual would need to be a people person, confident in building relationship with high net-worth individuals and able to articulate the issue of climate change to the prospective donors.

The incumbent would need to closely work with the CEO, program team of the client and other unit heads to design and implement a dynamic program that will identify, cultivate, and steward prospects and donors for major gifts in support of our clients work in India. Major Donor Program is a key strand in terms of revenue generation for the organization and of strategic importance for the client. This role will be responsible for revenue generation.

Scope of Activities:

1. Plan and implement the major donor program in accordance with the objective of the organization.

2. Identify and cultivate relationship with high net worth influencers in the space of environment and related civil society issues.

3. Coordinate with Campaigns/Public Engagement/Actions unit to keep track of possible high value fundraising opportunities and for important updates to be sent to Major Donors/Prospects.

4. Identify key priority projects and create potential Major Donor/Foundation Fundraising opportunities.

5. Monitor ongoing campaign projects, in coordination with campaigns, in order to identify changes to funding agreements that will affect current proposals and reporting criteria.

6. Identify new prospective donors and propose strategies for solicitation of major gifts.

7. Create a yearly plan and ensure a consolidated strategy for Major Gifts Program.

8. Development of proposals for the donors and invest in relationship building and communication on the client's progress and key milestones

9. Database management of the major donors and updating it regularly with profile of donors and their contribution.

10. Maintain effective contacts with the philanthropic community at large and prepare periodic reports on trends and developments with the potential to effect fundraising goals of the organization.

11.Managing the donor communication with personal visits, e-mail, reports, phone calls etc to keep the donor informed of the cause that they are supporting for develop and organise fundraising campaigns and events.

12. Provide guidance and support to the team to facilitate in achieving their objective.

13. Contribute to the wider fundraising departments and larger organisational activities by taking up additional responsibilities of surveys, documentation and consultation

14. Collaboration with other Global Offices of the client:

Finding opportunities to identify skills in priority offices and develop training and skill share ensuring integration with other initiatives in the Global Engagement.

CTC for this position: Rs. 10.5 lakhs per annum(negotiable) medical insurance and gratuity are not part of our CTC amount.

Eligibility Criteria

• Experience of team management • Seven plus years of fundraising/ sales experience of key accounts/high net-worth individuals

Desired Candidate Profile

Graduation - Graduate-Other

1. Sound understanding of the philanthropic trend of high net-worth individuals of the country.

2. Have an understanding of environmental issues, specifically on climate change

3. Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably knowledge of two Indian language

4. Computer literacy is essential as the role requires data generation and analysis

5. Experience of team management
