Job Description

Purpose of role:

- Strategic planning for excellence in programs, operations and processes

- High quality implementation of Azad programs

- Supervising administrative, finance and accounts management in your respective domain in Azad Foundation

Strategic Planning of Programmes

- Identifying key thrust areas in terms of what interventions and approaches will help achieve institutional mission and vision. Benchmarking with similar programs; Identification of robust strategies and SMART execution goals;

- Articulating robust strategies, by reflecting upon current experience and ensuring creative methodologies are co-designed with the team to ensure the overall programme goals can be achieved effectively.

- Building agreement on goals within the team, enabling them to break these down into simpler tasks that can be planned for and monitored on regular basis.

- Building a team that is aligned with the overall mission, vision and values of Azad, is supported to be able to tap its potential to the fullest in achieving the same.

Budget finalization and monitoring 

- Developing zero error budgets; Timeliness of budget approval; Programs operate within budget; Minimum variance of planned vs. actual. To be able to flexibly deploy resources as required giving priority to programme needs, keeping in mind donor agreements and with necessary approvals internally.

Monitoring and Reporting to the Board and all stakeholders

- Timeliness, accuracy and quality of reports to the COO for purposes of sharing with the Board and all other stakeholders; Timeliness and quality of co-ordination and communication all team members in preparing the reports and ensuring quality of output.

Supervision in execution of Azad programs

- Team goal setting, reviewing and feedback at regular intervals; Full achievement of program targets as per plan; Feedback from all stakeholders (women drivers, trainers, institutional partners, other stakeholders) and COO. Timely planning and review with partners and ensuring smooth partnership relations with key partners as identified.

Leading the annual outreach and selection

- Annual outreach strategy developed in consultation with key partners and stakeholders – internal and external; Effective and regular communications and support to partners to ensure Timeliness & Quality of implementation; Outreach and recruitment targets met; Optimization of community groups, local NGOs and CBOs and other mobilization partners. Azad has several community based programmes, PARVAZ – Feminist leadership programme, MGJ – Men for Gender Justice programme and other outreach work. Effective leadership to all these programmes to ensure there is effective synergy within them and each is delivered as per the expectations of quality.

Implementing training curriculum

- Timeliness and quality of faculty members; Accurate orientation of faculty members, including driving institutes; Training sequence, timelines and venues finalized atleast a month in advance; Learner’s licenses, permanent licenses procured on time for all trainees; Proper implementation of the curriculum plan; regular faculty parents, assembly and ‘badlav ka safarnama’ sessions and meet held, regular feedback on learning process of trainees provided to the partners and learners; keeping close contact with the learners to identify any challenges in their learning and to ensure counseling and other required support is arranged for. Ensuring the recipients of social security, and Ram Mohan scholarships are mentored and provided special support within the learning system. Ensuring that all walk outs (< 10%) from the learning system are as well monitored and tracked for a minimum of a year after walking out of the learning system and all data maintained.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Masters’ Degree in Social Work / Development Studies with the relevant experience of minimum10 years in a leadership position.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MSW

- Experience and understanding of working with communities as well as learning and training processes.

- Knowledge of different types of training content, delivery practices and desire to keep abreast with innovations in the field.

- Excellent verbal & written communication in English, Hindi. Knowledge of local language will be an added advantage.

- Strong facilitation, networking, negotiation and inter-personal skills in multi-cultural settings.

- Leads by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm. Provides the team with the capabilities needed to meet or exceed expectations

- Understanding of the impact of culture differences on team, inter-team and intra team work.

- Ability to create and nurture an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, high standards, innovation and continuous improvement and a passion for providing service.
