Summary

Shakti Shalini is a NGO based in Delhi, India, that has worked for gender equality, individual agency, and dignity since 1987. We provide probono support services to any person of any gender, sexuality, caste, religion, economic status, who has faced gender/ sexual violence. These include rescues/ crisis intervention, counseling, mental/ physical healthcare, litigation aid, family planning, shelter home, rehabilitation/ reintegration, and follow-up. We work with five socio-economically marginalised communities to mobilise grassroots changemakers for prevention from gender/ sexual violence and discrimination through door-to-door outreach, gender/ legal sensitisation, health aid, skills trainings, theatre and the arts. Groups of men, women, adolescent girls and boys are facilitated per community to lead the work of change. Shakti Shalini works with school/university students to mobilise youth towards a gender equal future, and conducts gender awareness through social media platforms.
