Summary

Feeding India is a not-for-profit organization which aims to solve the problem of hunger, malnutrition and food waste in the country. We channelize surplus food to the food deficit areas. This is done by collecting excess food from individuals, banquet halls, restaurants, corporate offices and other organisations, and directing it to the people who are in dire need of food and have no stable means to access it. Besides this, we also provide freshly cooked food and raw grains to our partnered shelter homes and beneficiaries.

Causes Working On

Feeding India aims to tackle the problem of hunger and food wastage in India by providing surplus food to the people in need. Hunger is one of the major global problems and India tops the hunger list with 194,000,000 people. Every night, 250 million people go to sleep with an empty stomach. The figures indicate the terrible situation of millions of people for a basic human right access to food. Every year, hunger kills more people than Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis combined. Feeding India aims to solve this problem by providing food to the needy. Food Wastage is emerging as an enormous problem all over the world. According to statistics, around 40 of the total food in the world is dumped. In India alone, food worth INR 58000 crore goes to landfills every year. It is disheartening to see such a huge amount of food to go into waste which could have been used to feed people. At Feeding India, we aim to minimize the wastage of food by directing excess food to the people in need. I
