Vikram Sarabhai Centre for Development Interaction (VIKSAT) was set up in the year 1977 as an institution of Nehru Foundation for Development (NFD), to take proactive steps in conserving the environment and promoting sustainable development by endorsing Peoples’ Institutions and interactions among them.

VIKSAT works in four thrust areas i.e. Forestry and Environment, Land and Water Management, Sustainable Livelihoods and Institution Capacity Building.
