Aksharacentre is a not for profit, women’s rights organisation founded in 1995 which believes in changing society by empowering women and girls. • We work for girls education and skills training so they can be financially self reliant • We work to eliminate gender discrimination and violence against women • We engage with young men to encourage them to be gender advocates • We campaign for a safe and inclusive city in which women can be secure and productive Focussing primarily on the youth community, our strategies are gender awareness and leadership trainings, youth mobilisation and collaborative partnerships.
