Summary

In 1989, NAAC (Nireekshana Activity & Achievement Centre) was founded in Bangalore by Mrs. Daya Martin with her provident fund. In 1994, World Vision of India partnered with Nireekshana providing financial support. The 20-year partnership made Nireekshana a light house of hope for many batches of students from different areas of society. Since they withdrew support and due to lack of funds, in 2013, Susheel Martin Foundation (SMF Nireekshana) was set-up to carry on the work. SMF provides a school and day-care for differently abled kids, from the ages of 2 to 16, with varying levels of developmental or learning challenges. With Mrs. Martin’s passing in 2014, her wish was that Nireekshana should go on….! Rohini, Mrs. Martin’s daughter leads Nireekshana to enable and empower differently abled kids. The past 5 years we have focused on not just education and life skills, but also rehabilitation of children and welfare of parents as well. Nireekshana presently has 40 special children.
